TOXIC FEMININITY

The project explores the formation of female identity through the lens of mass culture and the commercialization of ideas. It focuses on stereotypes, imposed images, and the search for «individuality,» which often becomes a trap of consumerism.

 

The artist uses slogans from women’s T-shirts — sparkling rhinestone phrases that once symbolized girl power but later took on a tone of toxic femininity. These provocative texts are layered over images of children, highlighting the contrast between innocence and the societal masks imposed on women from an early age.
